Ooh la la! Jen has a reason to smile again
She’s been through a tough 18 months after her marriage to Justin Theroux ended in disaster, but Jennifer Aniston has been keeping a delicious secret – she’s in love again.
The Friends sweetheart has been secretly dating French actor and comedian Dany Boon without telling a soul, but now she’s so smitten, she’s started telling her closest pals it’s all on!
“Jen was so badly scarred from her break-up with Justin, she was worried about jinxing herself,” claims a source. “But not any more!”
Our source dishes that the pair met last year at the first script reading of Jen’s new Netflix movie
Murder Mystery, in which the actress plays an American tourist fingered for a string of murders in Monte Carlo and Dany plays a bungling police inspector.
“There was an instant spark between them,” tells the source, “but her split from Justin was still very fresh and she didn’t feel ready for another relationship.
“But nothing happened until months after filming finished and even then the romance only developed after they struck up a great friendship, which is how most of her relationships have begun.”
Dany, 52, like Jen, 50, has been married twice and the pair bonded over their divorce tales.
“Jen can’t believe what a real gentleman he is,” adds the insider. “He never made her feel pressured for something more and because of that, things progressed organically. She realised she had feelings for him when he found out some interesting history on her Greek ancestry after she’d mentioned how much she wanted to explore her family history. That really touched her.” While it’s still early days and the couple have only been romantically involved for a couple of months, Jen’s apparently telling friends she’s happier than she’s been in a long time and finally feels ready to take the plunge into another serious relationship.
“Jen’s taking another one of her famous ‘friendcations’ to Mexico next month,” spills our source, “and she’s invited Dany to join her. It’s a grand gesture because she only introduces someone to her closest friends when she’s serious.”
The Horrible Bosses star has told her best pals – including Friends co-stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow, both 55 – that they can stop trying to set her up with eligible bachelors because she’s not interested in meeting anyone else.
“She’s been through the mill over the past couple of years,” tells our insider, “so everyone’s hoping Dany could be the man to prove there is such a thing as happily ever after.”
