Margot Robbie has had some of her eggs frozen at a Beverly Hills clinic, sending her husband Tom Ackerley into a spin about exactly when they will start a family.

“Margot has decided to put her career before her dreams of starting a family – at least for now,” a pal of the Aussie actress tells

Woman’sDay exclusively. “She’s 29 soon and has hit the panic button about having kids. The problem is, she’s heavily in demand for movie roles and doesn’t feel ready to start a family just yet. But she’s worried her chances of conceiving will start to drop off when she reaches 30, so she did the only thing she could think of and had some eggs put on ice.”

The MaryQueenofScots star recently paid a visit to the Center for Reproductive Health and Gynaecology in Beverly Hills where, claims our source, “she had about a dozen eggs frozen.”

Margot, adds the insider, discussed it at length with her film director husband Tom, 29, “and he’s very reluctantly come around to her way of thinking. In all honesty, he’s ready to be a dad now and wishes Margot would take time out so they could start a family.

“He’s worried sick that she’s delaying having kids because she has doubts about their marriage and try as she might, she’s struggling to reassure him.

“When they first met six years ago, Margot said she wanted to have a couple of kids by the time she was 30, and obviously that’s not going to happen now.”

In addition, says the source, she’s aware her screen rival Jennifer Lawrence, 28, is getting married and has been telling pals she’s ready to have kids.

“Margot is super-ambitious and feels that with J.Law out of the way, it’ll be the perfect chance for her to cement her position as the hottest young actress in Hollywood. That’s why she’s planning for the future – and those eggs should be good for the next six or seven years at least!”
