Renée and Bradley’s secret tryst

Move over Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt – Hollywood has a new reunited couple! Former flames Renée Zellweger and Bradley Cooper have hardly seen each other since their split in 2011, but all that changed at the Academy Awards last week when the pair enjoyed an intimate reconnection.
“Renée later told friends it was up there with winning the Oscar,” spills a source close to the BridgetJones’sDiary star. “Talk about everything happening at once! She has always thought of Bradley as the one that got away.”
On Oscars night, eagle-eyed fans spotted Renée, 50, and Bradley, 45, having a cosy tête-à-tête in the auditorium. Bradley was there for his role as producer of Joker and Renée was in the running for Best Actress for her role in Judy – which she went on to win.
“Renée and Bradley have really only spied each other sporadically over the past few years and she was understandably anxious about seeing him at the awards,” dishes our insider. “But Bradley went to say hello as soon as he could and told her he was so in awe of her performance in Judy that he’d watched it twice.
“Renée really appreciated his kindness and admitted later she had stomach flutters as soon as she saw him approach.”
The pair, who quietly dated for two years after working together on the supernatural thriller Case39, met up again at the Governor’s Ball and, according to our source, Bradley made it clear he still held a candle for his former co-star.
“He was subtly flirting to test the water and Renée was certainly receptive! She had ditched alcohol and sugar leading up to awards season but enjoyed some champagne at the bash. It went straight to her head and things became extremely flirtatious as the evening went on!”
The end of the couple’s relationship nine years ago, says our source, had not been acrimonious. Renée, who recently split from her boyfriend of seven years, Blues guitarist Doyle Bramhall, 51, and Bradley, who parted ways with supermodel Irina Shayk, 34, last year, ended up leaving the post-Oscars bash joined at the hip.
“Renée went back to Bradley’s Pacific Palisades mansion and apparently they stayed up talking until 4am,” claims the source. “She was on a high the next day and told pals that Bradley’s adamant he’s a changed man and wants to pick up where they left off.
“It’s still early days and Renée is petrified of being hurt again, but she’s been acting like a loved-up schoolgirl ever since. And Bradley’s been texting her non-stop. She’s open to the possibility of reigniting what she always describes as one of her best relationships.”
