Nobody knows how to get married on the downlow quite like Michelle Williams. Just days after the actress, 39, and her director fiancé Thomas Kail were spotted in Brooklyn, New York, wearing rings on their wedding fingers, a source exclusively confirmed the pair, who are expecting their first child together, have quietly tied the knot.
The pal says Michelle and Thomas always knew they were meant to be. “They fell hard and fast for each other. They just knew they wanted to be together.”
While it will be the first time being a dad for award-winning director Thomas, Michelle is already mum to 14-year-old Matilda, who she had with Heath Ledger. The Aussie actor tragically passed away from a drug overdose in 2008 when she was just two.
Now, Michelle is thrilled to be a parent with Thomas, 42, by her side. A source says, “Michelle fell in love. She is happy and fulfilled and ready for another child.”
The newlyweds wanted to be husband and wife before welcoming their baby, notes the insider. And, with everything in their life coming along, they’re “very happy and thrilled to be bringing a baby into the world together”.

Thomas on the set of the biographical mini-series Fosse/Verdon. Thomas directed the series, and Michelle played actress/ dancer Gwen Verdon.
It premiered in April and that same month she filed for divorce from singer-songwriter Phil Elverum, 41, who she had surprised the world by marrying in secret – but it lasted less than a year. Then in December it was confirmed that Michelle and Thomas were engaged.
In January, the lovebirds walked the red carpet together at the Golden Globes, where she won an award for her outstanding performance as Gwen.
The actress cleverly kept her baby bump under wraps in a one-shoulder peach-coloured Louis Vuitton gown. She also paid a sweet tribute to Thomas during her acceptance speech for Best Female Actor later that month at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
She publicly declared, “Tom, I share this with you.”
And last month, Michelle – who has bought a $18 million brownstone love nest in Brooklyn, revealed she’s taking time away from acting to focus on her growing family.
“I haven’t taken a job since Fosse/Verdon. I have something else I have to go do. I’ll be home, but it’s a hard act to follow,” she said, tenderly touching her baby bump.
