WEDDING BELLS FOR KEANU

He’s never been engaged or married, but at the age of 56, Keanu Reeves is apparently ready to make it official with his artist girlfriend Alexandra Grant!

“They were enjoying a lovely little dinner when Keanu popped the question over champagne,” reports an insider of the star’s grand romantic gesture at Spago in LA on March 13.

And pals say planning is already well underway for the couple’s big day.

“The ceremony will likely take place in front of a small group of close friends and family members in an intimate outdoor location in Malibu,” says one insider. “Keanu wants to do something special for Alexandra’s 48th birthday in early April, so he’s going to rent a mansion right on the ocean… There will be an announcement that the party is doubling as a wedding.”

It’s a much-hoped-for happy ending for the actor, who has lived through his share of tragedy over the years. In 1999, his then-girlfriend Jennifer Symes gave birth to a stillborn daughter named Ava, before the actress was killed in a car accident two years later.

“He’s been to hell and back,” says the insider. “But now he has this wonderful woman to share his life with.”
