MARTIN’S SAD SPLIT
After returning home from Hollywood in January, Kiwi star Martin Henderson kept his 787,000 Instagram followers up-to-date on much of his managed isolation with his Mexican girlfriend Aisha Mendez – but there’s a crucial update he hasn’t shared.
Sources tell Woman’s Day that the 46-year-old Grey’s Anatomy and Virgin River star has quietly ended his relationship because “quarantine ended up getting the better of them both”.
Despite claiming their mandated two-week hotel stay was “#relationshipgoals” as they worked out and even baked pavlova together, Martin confessed to close friends in early March that they were over.
“Martin and Aisha’s relationship seemed strong, but it crumbled while they were in hotel isolation in Auckland,” tells a source. “He was so sad and hasn’t said much about it since.”
Martin has continued to share pics from trips to Great Barrier Island and Abel Tasman National Park, but 20-something Aisha has been mysteriously absent from his posts since January 28 and it appears she’s since returned to Mexico.
“His friends think their demise was a combo of only being together a short time before putting themselves through a hotel lockdown, which would be hard enough on anyone, along with the age gap being too wide,” claims our insider. “Nevertheless, Martin is so happy to be back in New Zealand, so he’s making the best of things.”
