BEN’S PUBLIC MELTDOWN
Usually-friendly exes Ben A eck and Jennifer Garner looked to be locked in a tense conversation when their paths crossed near their LA homes last week. Now an insider reveals there are increasing tensions between the former couple over his new love, Jennifer Lopez.
“For a while there, they were doing well at blending their families, and Jen even saw herself becoming friends with J.Lo,” says the insider. “But lately, Ben’s been pretty neglectful of Jen’s feelings.”
In an interview with Howard Stern last week, Ben, 49, revealed he felt “trapped” in his marriage to Jennifer and would not have got treatment for his alcohol addiction if he remained in the relationship. He said, “Part of why I started drinking was because I was trapped. I was like, ‘I can’t leave because of my kids, but I’m not happy, what do I do?’”
But it’s Ben and 52-yearold J.Lo’s need to be constantly in touch with each other that is proving di cult for Jennifer, 49, who shares daughters Violet, 16, and Seraphina, 12, and son Samuel, 9, with the actor.
“Ben is constantly texting or ducking out to take phone calls from J.Lo,” says the insider. “Jen made it clear she was annoyed and there was a pointed comment made.”
