I’M GETTING MARRIED... HOME ALONE-STYLE!
He lives by the motto that family are the friends you chose and that’s exactly who will be by newly engaged star Macaulay Culkin’s side when he walks down the aisle with fiancée Brenda Song later this year!
“Macaulay hasn’t always had the easiest time when it comes to parents and marriage, so he swore he’d never marry again,” says a source. “Even when he met Brenda, he was clear about that, and she was incredibly understanding and sweet about it. But as time went on, especially when they had their son Dakota in April 2020, Mac slowly but surely changed his mind. Brenda was stunned when he proposed, but she accepted immediately.”
And while he’s over the moon to be marrying her, the wedding won’t be totally straightforward, given his difficult relationship with his parents, especially his dad Kit, who he’s estranged from.
“Mac’s parents will almost certainly not be invited, but he has plenty of ‘family he chose’ around him. Catherine O’Hara’s already hit him up about being the ‘best woman’ – and even though she was half-joking, Mac actually thinks that’s a great idea.” The pair have stayed close, despite living on opposite sides of the world, with Catherine recently revealing the lovable star, 41, cheekily calls her “Mum” when they run into each other.
Catherine won’t be the only star in attendance, though. “The guest list will no doubt be small but star-studded – Mac’s brothers Rory and Keiran will be there, along with trusted old friends, like his [My Girl co-star] pal Anna Chlumsky. Brenda will likely invite some of her old Disney co-stars, including Ashley Tisdale and the Sprouse brothers.”
