MacGyver star OUT OF HIDING!

Former Hollywood heartthrob Richard Dean Anderson was spotted in Malibu for the first time in months

-

After sending hearts racing as Angus “Mac” MacGyver, actor Richard Dean Anderson quickly disappeared from public life just like one of the villains he hunted on his show.

But as we approach the 30th anniversary of the crime caper nishing up on air in 1992, Richard has emerged from the shadows. e aviator sunglasses, brown leather jacket and tight jeans were nowhere to be seen as Richard, now 72, was seen wearing a loose- tting shirt and sweatpants as he ran errands around his home in Malibu recently.

JUST ONE OF THE LOCALS

Richard also appears to have given up his ashy lifestyle, with the actor seen stopping by the post o ce to mail several packages before hitting up a health food store for some staple supplements.

But it seems he still has Mac’s gift of the gab – which was often used on the show to get him out of some sticky situations

– as he was spotted happily chatting with the locals, even patting someone’s dog.

Playing the crime- ghting hero who refused to use a gun, Richard once told fans

it was quite a challenge. “It was really complicated to shoot MacGyver,” he said. “Because we had a new concept of a TV hero who didn’t use a gun to solve that problem. You saw him see the problem, see him see elements of the solution, see him collecting it, putting it together and then you see him, you know, weaving whatever toy he needs to solve that problem.”

MacGyver premiered in September 1985 and went on to win the hearts of millions of viewers until its cancellation in 1992. At that time, Richard spoke of feeling “fried” after the show’s relentless lming schedule left him with “no life at all”.

Five years later he stepped back into acting, this time as Colonel Jonathan “Jack” O’Neil in science ction drama Stargate SG-1. However, Richard walked away from the show in 2004 to focus on daughter Wylie Quinn Annarose, who he had with his now ex-partner Apryl Prose in 1998.

While Richard has never been married, he has been linked to a number of Hollywood actresses, including his MacGyver co-star Teri Hatcher and Lara Flynn Boyle.
