KEEP YOUR VALUABLES SAFE WHILE TRAVELLING

-

With holidays back on the cards, we’re learning to renavigate the basics – such as keeping our precious possessions safe while travelling. New research shows about 64% of people have become more attached to their possessions since the start of the pandemic. But that’s no reason to stress. Small business owner Lisa Wipfli shares her tips!

1 SAFELY STORE YOUR PRECIOUS ITEMS

When it comes to jewellery, I store the less delicate pieces in a larger jewellery box and the smaller, more delicate pieces in the boxes I bought them in. If you need extra padding in your suitcase, I put these smaller boxes into shoes, so they don’t get lost among the other items.

2 DO AN INSURANCE POLICY HEALTH CHECK

Before you head out, it’s a good idea to check your insurance policy to make sure your valuables are insured when you are at home or on the road.

3 TRY TO BE CONSIDERATE OF YOUR TECH

When you’re packing high-cost items like laptops and tablets, try to be considerate of where you are placing them and what you include in your carry-on versus your checked luggage or the boot of your car. When travelling on a plane, I will pack only the essentials in our carry-on. For example, I let the kids pick a toy each and bring a tablet for movies or games.
