JORDAN RODRIGUES MEET AUSTRALIA’S NEW NATIONAL TREASURE

From Home And Away to Hollywood, Oz’s new golden boy is ready to shine

-

At just 30 years of age, Jordan Rodrigues has a résumé most actors would kill for. Cutting his teeth playing bad boy Jai Fernandez on Home And Away

before moving on to cult dance series Dance Academy, Jordan launched himself into a string of Hollywood films such as Oscar-nominated Lady Bird

and blockbuster animated movie franchise Mortal Kombat Legends.

And now Jordan has perhaps reached the apex, starring alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones in the big-budget Disney+ series National Treasure: Edge Of History.

“This is definitely the biggest production I’ve ever been part of,” the Sydney-born actor tells Woman’s Day. “I feel so lucky, it’s a dream.”

And getting to work with someone as formidable as Catherine is something he’s still trying to fathom. “Catherine was awesome. She’s so professional and keeps it about the work, but is so friendly and always said good morning to everyone on set. No ego at all.”

Adding that it’s something of a rarity in Hollywood, he continues, “This place definitely can be quite bizarre at times and sometimes too much – that’s why I love coming home to Sydney. It takes a second to sift through the nonsense, but once you do, it’s really awesome and fun.”

As much as he loves returning home, Jordan says fans shouldn’t expect him to return to the shores of Summer Bay any time soon. “I haven’t gotten that call yet, but I don’t think anyone misses Jai,” he laughs.

“But Home And Away was my first TV job ever and I owe my career to that show, so I would absolutely love to return to the character one day.” National Treasure: Edge Of History is now streaming on Disney+.
