Macaulay Culkin was left “stunned” after his brother Kieran dished details about Macaulay’s second son, Carson, while on the red carpet for Succession’s season four premiere in New York.
“Well, the cousins live in Los Angeles, we live in New York,” dad-of-two Kieran told reporters. “I have a one-year-old and a threeyear-old, and as busy as I am, there’s just no getting on a plane and going, and same with them. I haven’t met number two yet and they haven’t met my number two yet either because we just haven’t been able to figure that out.”
Macaulay, 42, and his fiancée Brenda Song “are very private people”, according to a source, “and don’t want their little family to be exposed to the world just yet”.
“Mac wants to give them the exact opposite upbringing to what he and Kieran had as child stars,” adds the insider.
The actor, who also shares two-year-old son Dakota with Brenda, 34, accused his father Kit of being “mentally and physically abusive” during his childhood.
Then, when Kit and Macaulay’s mum Patricia Brentrup began a bitter custody battle over their seven kids when Macaulay was 16, the star sued them to regain control of his $27 million trust.
Sources say the brothers have bonded over their dysfunctional upbringing, leaving Mac perplexed over 40-yearold Kieran’s decision to talk about his family.
“They have a shared experience of growing up with a stage father who forced them into showbiz – and neither of them talk to Kit any more or have anything to do with him,” says our insider. “Friends are hoping Kieran’s little red-carpet slip-up won’t come between them, but only time will tell.”
