LUXE UPGRADES ON A BUDGET Elevate your bedroom for winter

Dreaming of the perfect haven? These cosy pieces come with snug prices

-

Our bedroom is arguably the most important room in the house. With all the daily demands we have on our time, having a cosy space for rest and time out is vital. We spend one-third of our life sleeping, so it makes sense that a bedroom should be a luxe haven where we can escape the world. Being well-rested has shown to benefit all aspects of our lives, from concentration to motivation, which means a comfortable, stylish and snug space is a must. This winter, The Warehouse has some easy-peasy tricks and pocket-friendly pieces that will keep you cosy.

Tip 1

Nothing says luxury like layers. Start with a new duvet cover and go from there. This winter, bold florals in rich, deep colourways are on trend. Next, try adding a coverlet in an accent shade. Not only will this make a style statement, but you’ll also have an extra element of cosiness. Now think about the textures with a throw and some coordinating cushions. Follow the “odd number rule” – three cushions is ideal on a bed as it disrupts symmetry and is pleasing to the eye. Don’t be afraid to mix up textures and colours, as this will add to the style, but make sure they all tie back to the design in your duvet cover.

Tip 2

Layering can also apply to other elements in a bedroom. Adding a plush rug will not only make your feet happy, it will also add another area of interest and warmth. A lighter shade of rug, such as cream or beige, can help your bedroom appear more spacious. If you’re unsure where to place it, aim to have the bottom third of the bed on the rug. Also think about lighting – a soft bedside lamp, as well as the main ceiling light, is a great option.
