+ How did you choose the colours for these designs? We’re inspired by New Zealand’s natural landscape, so the colours used here are earthy and neutral tones that have been drawn from our natural environment. + Is composition and proportion important in your work? Absolutely. Often when we are designing we like to work on a large scale. We then select, edit and crop areas to create just the right amount of tension within the work.
+ How do you approach the design process? We like to have a concept or story before we begin designing, and we’ll be thinking about how the work interacts with the texture of the fabric. We also like to explore ideas through different mediums and translate these into digital artworks.
