Mir­rors are a bit like win­dows in their abil­ity to in­tro­duce a sense of light and spa­cious­ness to a room. But they’re more ver­sa­tile in that they can be moved around, hung any­where and can add colour and de­tail by way of a beau­ti­ful frame. In this Christchurch cot­tage, a large, or­nate mir­ror leans against a wall in the bed­room, while a match­ing mir­ror in the kitchen acts al­most as an ex­tra win­dow; both re­flect and re­fract their rooms’ best fea­tures.
