Your Home and Garden

HONESTY BOX

+ Which is your favourite room? Milly: My favourite place is in our bedroom. There’s a very well-loved orange tweed Ken armchair (from Danske Mobler) which looks out over the roses and the mountain – it’s the best spot to read and chill at the end of the day.

+ Best memories in your home? There have been so many happy times shared with family and friends here over the past three years. We love throwing parties for birthdays and Christmas; our home is a go-to for our extended-family gatherings and it’s such fun to get everyone together. It’s a relaxed and welcoming space.

+ Your favourite rose? I try not to play favourites, but I’m always a sucker for blush roses. ‘Souvenir de la Malmaison’ and David Austin’s ‘St Swithun’ and The Wedgwood Rose are beautiful soft pink garden roses. + What easy-growing rose would you suggest for new gardeners? ‘Pierre de Ronsard’ is a vigorous French climber that never needs much attention and flushes reliably throughout the season. It has soft white-pink blooms edged with carmine and double, fully cupped flowers that cut well. Just give it a bit of space.
