Carol plans a relaxing and sociable sanctuary

Hi Carol

I’m so stuck after the passing of my dad in March, as he was the great garden ideas person. I have a lovely home in Cambridge which we built in August, 2016. I have completed the front gardens and done all the landscaping myself, but I am tired and still grieving. I need you to help me create a lush and tropical back garden; a real sanctuary where we can relax.

We entertain a lot and it is no problem for us to have 50 people at our barbecues. We have a fire pit, so a great conversation space with some gabions for seating would be awesome. I am open to having the whole back area covered in trees. The deck is north-facing and, as we have a dog, the grass gets messed up. I have brought up my son on my own for 21 years. This would be an amazing blessing for our ‘famille’. We love your magazine. Michelle Kergozou De La Boessiere, Cambridge
