COLORSTEEL®

-

has been protecting the places New Zealanders live, work and play in for over 35 years, turning metal into magic and transforming the everyday. We asked Sarah Pepworth, Head of Marketing, a few of our top questions:

How do I decide which colour my roof should be? Your roof is a major part of your exterior colour scheme, alongside your main house colour (paint or brick), trims and windows. To choose a roof colour, consider any fixed elements you won’t be changing, such as brick work and driveways, as well as the location of your home, its environment and your home’s architectural style. To help with your decision, always request a free steel sample (available from your supplier or colorsteel. co.nz) and compare it with test pots of the other colours you are considering. Lastly consider the finish. New COLORSTEEL® Matte o ers a refined aesthetic, and we have been seeing a growing trend towards matte finishes on building exteriors in New Zealand. If in doubt, speak to a colour consultant or check out colorsteel.co.nz/ inspiration for some ideas.

What other trends are you seeing? Along with matte finishes, we have been seeing an increase in standing seam profiles that add interesting lines to a design, especially when used as cladding as well as roofing. In the cladding space, we are also seeing eye-catching pairings of COLORSTEEL® with cedar and other timbers. In terms of colour, throughout 2019 we have continued to see a preference for darker shades such as COLORSTEEL® FlaxPod®, which is one of our fastest growing colours.
