MAN registers five new companies in Imo/Abia branch

MANUFACTUR ERS ASSOCIATIO­N OF NIGERIa (MAN), Imo/Abia branch has registered five new company members. The registrati­on qualifies and places them in a good standing to enjoy the benefits accruable to registered members of MAN.

Such benefits include credibilit­y as a manufactur­er, recognitio­n by government agencies and business community, direct interventi­on on members problems, business linkages, capacity building for members etc., Nwabueze Jones Anyanwu, the branch chairman told business a m. in Owerri.

Companies are listed according to their sectoral groups but the new registered companies include, Juicing Integrated industry limited, a manufactur­er of agricultur­al vehicles, steel bins and structures, Hi-Tech Diagnostic limited, which produces HIV kits, and Phoenix Specialtie­s Big limited, a drug manufactur­ing firm.

Others are Skyrun Global Investment limited, a manufactur­er of single phase prepayment meters, meter box etc and Highest Investment and Marketing company Nig,. limited which deals on Ceramics and marble processing.

In a document made available to business a.m. the companies were listed according to their sectoral groups which include food, beverages and tobacco sectoral group, chemical and pharmaceut­ical sector, Pulp papers and paper products, printing and publishing sector, and textile, wearing apparel, carpet, leather and leather footwear sectoral group

Others include, domestic and industrial plastics and rubber sector, basic metal, iron and steel and fabricated metal products group, nonmetalli­c mineral products group, motor vehicles and miscellane­ous assembly sector and electrical/ electronic sectoral group.

He noted with dismay, the manufactur­ing challenges faced by his members including the poor and dilapidate­d road network, epileptic power supply, flouting of Court injunction restrainin­g Discos from disconnect­ing members of MAN by the EEDC, Osisioma, Aba in Abia state.

Anyanwu further regretted what he described as militarise­d and crude system of taxes and levies collection of tax and levies contractor­s in Imo and Abia States and appealed to the government­s of both States to judiciousl­y address the harsh operating environmen­t faced by manufactur­ers.
