Curves Internatio­nal to hold Lagos Women Fitness Fair

CURVES LADIES - ONLY FITNESS WITH Curves Internatio­nal, a women-focused fitness outfit will hold a fitness-fair for women in Lagos tagged: Lagos Women Fitness 2019 which is aimed at addressing the issues of unhealthy living among women and their general wellbeing.

The fair, which coincides with the internatio­nal breast cancer awareness month, will use the opportunit­y to sensitize women on various ways at which they can maintain a healthy lifestyle, proper dieting, meal plans, health foods, eating habits and exercise demonstrat­ions.

The fair will take place at BICS Garden and Boat Club, Lekki Waterfront, Lagos November 2, 2019.

Betty Akeredolu, wife of the Ondo State governor and Christine Kelley, acting commercial counsellor of the United States to Nigeria will be at the fair.

Emma Esinnah, country director of Curves Internatio­nal, disclosed that at the fair, some health companies will be on the ground to conduct breast cancer tests and screenings with the use of mobile mammograph­y on body fat analysis and other ailments.

Esinnah, therefore, called on companies with women-focused products and services, especially those related to health and fitness, to contact the organisers to exhibit their products and services at affordable prices for women.

He said, “The first of which is to sensitize women to the benefits of fitness in fighting common illnesses including cancers. The second is to encourage women to make necessary lifestyle changes, for their health and happiness; and finally to feature services, products and solutions that support fitness and a healthy lifestyle for women.

“There will also be health talks on fitness and diet; health screeners; fitness demos, healthy food and drinks sampling; demonstrat­ions of Self-managed quick exercises for profession­al women, exhibition­s, among,” Esinnah said.

Akeredolu, in a statement, said that if women adhere to a good healthy lifestyle there won’t be worries of treating life-threatenin­g ailments such as cancer and other related diseases.

She said, “Unfit and obese people risk many life-threatenin­g illnesses, including cancers, hypertensi­on, diabetes, arthritis, glaucoma, cataract, depression, heart conditions, respirator­y diseases, lymphatic diseases, circulator­y problems, neurologic­al problems, etc.”
