IN CEL EBRATING THE ANNUAL WORLD CRE ATIVITY and innovation day recently, AXA Mansard Insurance Plc, announced its commitment to deepen insurance coverage in Nigeria through the development of innovative products and services.

World Creativity and Innovation Day - celebrated every April 21st - is designed by the United Nations to raise the awareness of the role of creativity and innovation in all aspects of human development. AXA Mansard, over the years, has demonstrated its commitment to creativity and innovation in the insurance space through telemedicine, website, app and USSD, Artificial Intelligence, Gamification, products amongst others.

AXA Mansard Telemedicine connects patients with licensed doctors who can consult, diagnose, prescribe medication, and make recommendations on medical conditions and treatments through its partnership with Tremendoc - which has been a major support to customCONSOLI ers and employers during the COVID19 pandemic.

Through the company’s dial (*987#), customers in the low-income segment gain access to quality and much needed insurance services. Existing and potential customers in all other market segments as well are served via this dial and MyAXA Plus app through which they can interact with the company, buy their products and monitor policies and plans in realtime.

The company’s first-generation robo-advisor, Coach Idris in tandem with its recommendation engine, currently recommends products to customers who visit their website. However, these tools are being improved further to handle more tasks like signing up new customers, canceling policies, filing claims, and assigning premiums.

AXA Mansard has also built owambedriver.com to gamify motor insurance policies. This allows customers to find out what type of driver they are by simply playing the game. No sign-up is required to access the game.

In addition, the company provides a byte-sized product to encourage financial inclusion. Its SaveIt’ enables customers to set up a real-time automated savings account with as low as N100. Also, its Business Insurance Plan addresses the business risk exposure of SMEs and can be booked seamlessly using the company’s transactional website which provides an affordable and easily accessible service. Bayo Adesanya, chief digital innovation officer, noted that creativity is the crux of every business, especially in the fast advancing digitization period. “Creativity is the driving force behind innovation and the incorporation of looking at things from a different perspective and freedom of restrictions by rules and written or unwritten norms. Innovation and creative problem-solving spring up daily in different sectors of the economy today -FinTech, InsurTech, Agrivest, etc. We just need to create the landscape for these ideas to be fully utilized. The creative solutions to the problems already abound”.
