Capacity building key to productivity upscale, says NRC boss

For any organization to make meaningful progress and achieve set goals and objectives, it must from time to time update the skills and potentials of its workforce. It is against this backdrop that, the management and staff of the NRC have been enjoined to make the best use of the refresher course in order to enhance their productivity.

Fidet Okhiria made this assertion, managing director of Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) during a 2-day capacity-building workshop for management and staff of the corporation recently according to statement signed by Yakub Mahmood, deputy director, public relations of the NRC and made available to Business AM.

Okhiria reiterated that the training was an opportunity for all the participants to update themselves with knowledge in modern transport industries operations, especially now that the world is going digital. Adding that, they must brace-up to the challenges in order to discharge their official duties optimally.

The NRC boss said that one of the cardinal objectives of his administration is to equip his management and staff with skills and tools for efficient and effective service delivery in the corporation. Hence, the imperative of training all cadres of staff in the corporation. He charged the workforce to always display the spirit of teamwork during and after this programme

On her part, Monsurat Omotayo, director of administration / human resources represented by Adeniran, deputy director, administration described the training as a kind gesture from the management through the undaunted effort and commitment of the administration and human resources department for capacity building of staff and urged the them to dedicate themselves to the selfless service of the corporation
