GIG Logistics introduces crypto payment gateway on GIGGO app

GIG LOGISTICS, WHICH PRO VIDES DELIV ERY SOLU TIONS ACROSS West Africa, has launched a crypto payment gateway on GIGGo, its proprietar­y delivery app.

In a statement made available to Business A.M., the logistics company explained that the developmen­t is part of its efforts towards providing more inclusion and efficiency in ecommerce payment and also, offering users the opportunit­y to explore additional payment channels using digital currency.

According to GIG, the crypto wallet through which the crypto service is facilitate­d will be released in beta phases to 2,000 users and progress to 8,000-10,000 users within two weeks before finally being released to all users on the platform.

To ensure a seamless service, GIGL said it has partnered with XPAD, a crypto platform built on the most secure ledger globally, that will power custodial services backend and guarantee asset security.

On how the crypto wallet works, the tech-friendly company said users will be enabled to perform key digital transactio­ns including, buying, storing, sending, withdrawin­g and earning from digital assets.

In the initial stage, users will get an update notificati­on, introducin­g the crypto wallet functional­ity and get a prompt to sign up. If the user already has an account with the XPAD platform, they will be required to import their XPAD wallet by inputting wallet credential­s.

This action, according to GIG, will enable current XPAD users to perform crypto transactio­ns from the GIGGo app.

Some of the assets available for purchase include, UDST, BITCOIN and CFX, and beta users will be allowed to make any asset purchase worth the equivalent of a maximum of N500,000 daily.
