-

FEDERAL ROAD SAFETY CORPS FRSC, TARA BA STATE COMMAND SAID IT WILL SOON EMBARK ON AN OP ERATION to impound vehicles without speed limiting devices.

The sector commander, Selina Williams, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jalingo last weekend.

Williams said the measure had become imperative, following an increase in the rate of road crashes arising from excessive speed and other traffic offences. He said the corps has concluded plans to clamp down on all vehicles without speed limiting devices.

According to her, “We will also impound vehicles which indulge in overloading, operating with old number plates as well as those that commit other traffic offences. The essence of the operation is to reduce the rate of road crashes on our roads,”.

The Taraba FRSC boss urged motorists in the state to go online to obtain the speed limiting devices to avoid incurring the wrath of the law.

She advised speed limiting devices’ vendors to set up businesses in the state to make the item accessible to motorists.
