Guinea Insurance offers customers self-service motor insurance portal

NIGERIABAS­ED COMPOSITE INSURANCE COMPANY, GUINEA INSURANCE PLC, HAS UNVEILED AN INNOVATIVE self-service motor insurance e-portal that enables customers to purchase motor insurance products in less than two minutes.

Damilare Bakare, the group lead of ICT at the insurance firm noted the portal presents a platform for online real-time purchases by the insuring public, and it is integrated with Paystack Company, a leading payment gateways in Nigeria and Africa.

According to Bakare, innovation is fundamenta­l to any insurance company in the present era of fastgrowin­g technology which the company is leveraging by providing an insurance agent module on its portal to help customers streamline new business submission­s and provide them with access to policy informatio­n in a selfservic­e manner.

Bakare explained that upon the verificati­on of payment for the motor insurance scheme with the use of credit or debit cards, a motor certificat­e would be generated, downloaded, and emailed to the customer instantly.

He added that the portal could be used by brokers and agents who are registered with Guinea Insurance PLC, while visitors to the Guinea Insurance website could get to the motor insurance portal via the “Buy Motor Insurance” button on the site.

Speaking at the recent launch of the portal in Lagos, Ademola Abidogun, managing director, Guinea Insurance, said the motor insurance portal was created to provide the insured public with unlimited access to make real-time purchases from anywhere within the country whenever they needed to.

Abidogun noted further the portal would give customers the freedom and make informed decisions to purchase authentic and reliable motor insurance policies that best suit their insurance needs without any geographic­al barrier; insofar as the vehicle is within the Nigerian land borders.

“As it stands today, consumer behaviour is undeniably shifting and favouring effortless­ness more than before, whether by simply engaging with a business quickly and convenient­ly or by easily accessing the most relevant informatio­n to meet their individual needs,” he added.

The managing director also disclosed that the company will continuall­y update and improve the portal as it aims to provide policyhold­ers with all the informatio­n and tools they need to selfserve at any time, creating a seamless experience and better meeting their needs.
