Nissan appoints new VP of global communications
NISSAN AUTOMAK ERS HAS PROMOT ED DIVISIONAL GM OF GLOBAL COM MUNICATIONS, Lavanya Wadgaonkar as its VP of global communications.
In her role, Wadgaonkar will be responsible for leading all of Nissan’s communications including building the company’s reputation globally, engaging internal and external audience and driving sustainability communications.
As VP of global communications, she will continue to report to Sadayuki Hamaguchi, Nissan’s corporate VP of global communications.
With more than 27 years of experience under her belt, Wadgaonkar specialises in strategic communications, publics affairs, brand management, marketing and sustainability. Previously as divisional GM of global communications, she led and developed the communications and external and government affairs functions for Nissan Asia and Oceania..
Prior to joining Nissan in 2012, Wadgaonkar was in intelligent power management company, Eaton Corporation as its GM and head for marketing and public affairs, said her LinkedIn. She spent five years in the company, based in India. Before Eaton Corporation, Wadgaonkar helmed the marketing communications manager position in printing company, Lexmark International.
Aside from its communications team, Nissan has also adjustments in its management team by appointing Matthew Hobbs as its VP for external and government affairs in March 2020.
Based in Melbourne, Hobbs reports to Yutaka Sanada, regional senior vice president, Asia and Oceania at Nissan. In his role, Hobbs replaces Wadgaonkar and is responsible for further strengthening government and stakeholder relations for Nissan across Asia and Oceania .
