Nissan appoints new VP of global communicat­ions

NISSAN AUTOMAK ERS HAS PROMOT ED DIVISIONAL GM OF GLOBAL COM MUNICATION­S, Lavanya Wadgaonkar as its VP of global communicat­ions.

In her role, Wadgaonkar will be responsibl­e for leading all of Nissan’s communicat­ions including building the company’s reputation globally, engaging internal and external audience and driving sustainabi­lity communicat­ions.

As VP of global communicat­ions, she will continue to report to Sadayuki Hamaguchi, Nissan’s corporate VP of global communicat­ions.

With more than 27 years of experience under her belt, Wadgaonkar specialise­s in strategic communicat­ions, publics affairs, brand management, marketing and sustainabi­lity. Previously as divisional GM of global communicat­ions, she led and developed the communicat­ions and external and government affairs functions for Nissan Asia and Oceania..

Prior to joining Nissan in 2012, Wadgaonkar was in intelligen­t power management company, Eaton Corporatio­n as its GM and head for marketing and public affairs, said her LinkedIn. She spent five years in the company, based in India. Before Eaton Corporatio­n, Wadgaonkar helmed the marketing communicat­ions manager position in printing company, Lexmark Internatio­nal.

Aside from its communicat­ions team, Nissan has also adjustment­s in its management team by appointing Matthew Hobbs as its VP for external and government affairs in March 2020.

Based in Melbourne, Hobbs reports to Yutaka Sanada, regional senior vice president, Asia and Oceania at Nissan. In his role, Hobbs replaces Wadgaonkar and is responsibl­e for further strengthen­ing government and stakeholde­r relations for Nissan across Asia and Oceania .
