Abuja trade fair: FCTA, ACCI, others move to tackle multiple taxation
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) said it is working closely with the Abuja Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and other stakeholders to address the issue of multiple taxation in the territory.
Muhammad Bello, the Minister of the FCT made the call in Abuja at the official opening of the 15th Abuja
International Trade Fair with the theme: “Trade and Commerce Beyond Borders”.
Bello stressed that the FCT Administration is working with ACCI and other stakeholders to harmonise taxation so that payment of multiple taxes does not adversely affect businesses in the FCT.
He therefore, called on investors to take advantage of the good road and rail networks, presence of world class communication facilities as well as a major international airport.
The Minister said the Administration was working hard to create the enabling environment to make the territory a major trading and business destination..
Bello pointed out that the focus of the 15th edition of the fair was in tandem with President Muhammadu Buhari’s agenda of putting Nigeria on the global map as a great trade and exporting nation.
The commended the management of ACCI for ensuring that the fair was able to hold in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that the chamber’s innovative and result oriented ideas had contributed in no small measure in raising the profile of the Territory as a growing commercial and industrial hub.
He also lauded the efforts of the outgoing President of the Chamber, Adetokunbo Kayode in building the structures within the trade fair complex.
