Artist3, a blockchain- enabled end-to-end digital ecosystem designed for creatives to create and sell NonFungible Token (NFT) art has been unveiled in Nigeria.

The first of its kind in Africa’s largest economy, Artist3, according to industry players will provide a global digital gallery curating, selling and auctioning digital imagery with the most innovative artists and dynamic creators.

A collaborative project between Magic Carpet and Wifisoft Technologies. Artist3 has a team that is made up of dynamic and resilient entrepreneurs in the art and crypto space.

Speaking at the event, Ferdinand Adimefe CEO of Imaginarium Creative Agency and Co-founder Artist3 said “There is an upside potential market for African artists and those in emerging markets capture its share of the expanding crypto art resource economy.

Though it was launched in Africa, Adimefe said the platform is not just for Africans.“it is more from Africa to the rest of the world.”

The Vision of Artist3, according to the Co-founder is to become a leading international NFT all-inclusive art platform, curating the most innovative artists and dynamic creators from across the world. An NFT is a digital asset that allows buyers to purchase ownership of a digital good, usually in the form of an image, animation or video.

“We do have a deliberate plan to bring every African artist and those in emerging markets to this new economy and provide that access. We intend to aggregate a series of curated pieces even beyond those not just inspired by African stories and realities,” Adimefe said.

To utilize a plethora of untapped potential to create wealth, value and global exposure for creatives, collectives and investors within the next few years, Artist3’s founders said it will be rolling out a series of innovative sub-divisions;

Some of the innovative products that have been birth through Artist3 include, Topia: A learning hub with new courses, techniques and tools to unlock more opportunities in the NFT space.

Majikal: A video on demand platform where contents are crowdsourced and owned by the community is another sub- division of Artist3.

A platform where creative projects come to life, Incub8 is also on the list. With this, the company’s founders said, creatives can crowdsource funding for films, art, games, animations and more.

Mart3 which provides new and innovative avenues for trading NFTS, compelling digital arts and animated content and Gamic, an NFT games platform where game developers can publish their games and users can choose from the diverse catalogue of NFT game genres to play are some of the other subdivision of Artist3. Amongst the 5 subdivisions of Artist3, Mart3 is currently live while the others would go live subsequently.

Nigerian popular hip hop artist MI Abaga who is also an advisor on the project while speaking on this initiative said; “Developments such as this are welcomed and what the Artist3 team are doing is applaudable”.
