Commerce commissioner highlights Plateau’s economic progress
The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Musa Sule has unveiled the remarkable achievements of his Ministry. It was in continuation of the 2024 ministerial brie ng organised by the Plateau State Ministry of Information.
Notable among these milestones was the ministerial visit to the Plateau DUNCAN Fertilizer Blending Plant in Larwin, Barkin ladi, where they actively participated in the launch of assorted fertilizers and the o cial opening of the plant.
Furthermore, the Commissioner highlighted the visits to key industrial sites such as the Cassava Processing Plant in Gakok-kuru, Jos, and the premises of Jos International Brewery PLC, underscoring the Ministry’s commitment to promoting diverse sectors of the economy.
e Commissioner emphasized the importance of fostering partnerships and collaboration, as evidenced by the interactive sessions held with o cials and members of Farmers Association, Bank of Industry (BOI), aimed at energising the promotion of export crops and enhancing agricultural productivity.
Moreover, the Ministry’s active participation in events like the Kastina International Trade Fair in February 2024 showcased Plateau’s economic potential and attracted investment opportunities to the state.
Looking ahead, Sule outlined future plans and initiatives, including the establishment of a Potato Processing Plant at Gakok-kuru and the relocation of the Cassava Processing Plant to the Southern zone, following approval by the immediate past government.
e Commissioner also underscored the importance of supporting cooperative societies and creating a databank for investment and industrial potentials, demonstrating the Ministry’s commitment to inclusive economic growth.

“e Ministry together with Consultants undertook a visit to the proposed site for the International Market around Police Sta College Zawan and another site along Kuru and Foron junction. Para-metre survey was done. e land is covering 69.5 Hectres,” the commissioner said.
