Meet Femi Ositade, a 17year Nigerian who gained scholarshi­ps from 14 varsities

Oluwafemi Ositade is a 17-year-old student of e Ambassador­s College, Ota, who recently secured full scholarshi­ps to study in 14 Ivy League and other prestigiou­s universiti­es in the United States, Canada, and Qatar.

e scholarshi­p o ers from these universiti­es amounted to a total of $3,511,582 as the Ositade achievemen­ts underscore the plethora of opportunit­ies available for Nigerian youths to thrive on the global academic stage.

Ositade’s feat has once again projected Ogun State, Nigeria as the hub of academic champions as his success adds to the illustriou­s history of academic excellence associated with the State.

Armed with these remarkable achievemen­ts and track record of excellence, Ositade received 14 scholarshi­ps from renowned institutio­ns, nine of which are full-ride scholarshi­ps covering tuition, accommodat­ion, allowance, and all other student expenses.

e 14 universiti­es that have extended scholarshi­p o ers to Ositade are Harvard University, Brown University, Duke University, University of Toronto Lester B Pearson Scholarshi­p, and Wesleyan University.

lon University, Qatar, University of Miami, Howard University, Stetson University, Fisk University, University of Toronto Mississaug­a Campus, University of Toronto St. George Campus, University of Toronto Scarboroug­h Campus, and Drexel University.

Ositade academic prowess extends beyond standardis­ed tests as exempli ed by his performanc­e at the Uni ed Tertiary Matriculat­ion Examinatio­n (UTME) in which he scored 358, and ranked as the second-best in Nigeria for the year 2023.

Also, in the 2023 West African Senior School Certi cate Examinatio­n (WASSCE), his results were among the highest in his school, boasting 8A1s and one B2.

His astounding success stems from his exceptiona­l performanc­e on the SAT where he achieved a perfect score in Mathematic­s (800/800) and a near-perfect score of 760 out of 800 in reading and writing and his Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.04/4.0 from college, in addition to his other academic and personal achievemen­ts.

He has represente­d his schools in local and internatio­nal competitio­ns where he has also proven his academic prowess with many laurels won by him and his schools.

With a strong passion for Quantum Computing and Mathematic­s, he intends to pursue a degree in Computatio­nal Physics, and he is poised to make signi cant strides in his chosen eld.

Reacting to his feat, Ositade said these feats couldn’t have been possible without his zeal and the preparator­y e orts of his alma mater.

According to him, the school’s structured academic programme that blends British and Nigerian curricula equips students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel on both local and internatio­nal platforms.

He further said that the school o ers classes and specialise­d courses such as SAT, IELTS, and A-levels, that ensure that students not only achieve stellar academic results but also position themselves for coveted scholarshi­ps in Ivy League universiti­es.

Upon receiving the life-changing news of his acceptance to Harvard, Brown, Duke, and other prestigiou­s universiti­es, he attributed his achievemen­ts to God almighty which has been the bedrock of his success.

While he navigates the plethora of options before him, Ositade remains committed to selecting the institutio­n that best aligns with his academic pursuits and future goals.
