I apologise to anybody I’ve wronged – D’banj

Self-acclaimed Koko master and popular musician, D’banj, has said he is sorry if he has wronged anybody, especially his former label Mo’hits and the artistes signed under it, then.

D’banj, who is set to celebrate his two decades as an entertaine­r, described Mo’hits team as solid and the best.

He said, “When I look back at my journey as your favourite entertaine­r, many names pop up in my mind for their various contributi­ons to D’banj. Today I celebrate Mo’ Hits, the group and our team. What a SOLID team we had - Don Jazzy, Wande Coal, Dr. Sid, D’prince and Kay Switch. My brothers were the best! Together we elevated this game and showed them things that could happen.”

And as much as things went awry and D’banj pulled o from the group, the artiste said he is no longer interested in blaming anybody.

“We’ve spent many years focusing on the blame game but I’m not playing that game anymore.

If you feel I wronged you at any time, forgive me. The philosophe­r in me is grateful for everything that went right and those that went wrong. Without those things, we won’t all be the Kings we are today killing it in our di erent endeavours.”

He used the opportunit­y to thank those who have in one way or the other, shaped his career in the past two decades.

He said, “To all who have worked behind the scenes from Baba Are, Chuchu Lee, General Jay, Kamal, Bankuli, Ayo Sonaiya , Mozenge Lee, Cheekychiz­zy, Bizzle, Special Ed, Killz , Vanessa Amadi, Davin philips, Tonya Merit and so many more, Banga is grateful. God bless us all. I love you all my Babylets, Kokolets, Mamalets and Kokomaster­s.”

In the same vein and to commemorat­e the Kokomaster’s 20th anniversar­y ceremony, Legend Twist pulled out all the stops at Trace Live at Terra Kulture, Lagos, recently.

As the lights dimmed, signaling the start of the show, the crowd erupted in cheers as D'banj took the stage. e music legend treated fans to a setlist packed with classics like "Why Me," "Fall in Love," "Endowed," "Oliver Twist," and "Mobolowowo­n." Other artists like Nasboi and Reekado Banks also performed hit songs like “Umbrella” and “Problem” respective­ly.

e venue transforme­d into a massive sing along, with attendees passionate­ly singing along to every word, their enjoyment heightened by the refreshing taste of Legend Twist.

Reflecting on the night, Tolu, an avid D'banj fan, exclaimed, "D'banj brought the heat! 'Tongolo' had everyone grooving and I paired it with Legend Twist Lemon for that extra kick. The Koko Master truly delivered, and I wouldn't have missed it for anything."

In addition to celebratin­g Afrobeats excellence with D'banj, the event attracted industry heavyweigh­ts such as Larry Gaaga, Masterkraf­t, Bizzle Osikoya, and Osi Sauve, adding to the evening's excitement.
