‘Lafta Card Show:’ Monkal, Okey Bakassi, others square up in Calabar
Lafta Card,’ the comedy show of the ace comedian and Airtel brand ambassador, Mong Kalu, who is also known as “Monkal” is set to unravel in Calabar, the capital city of Cross Rivers State.
In a statement made available to journalists in Lagos by the organizers, Monkal will not be the only one to offer the people of Calabar the fun and thrill of his comedy, other celebrated comedians and artistes such as OkeyBakassi, Solid Star, Gordons, Ras Kimono, Akpororo and Kennyblaq will be on hand to add flavour to the show on in the second week of March.
The statement also said the event which is slated for the city’s Cultural Center Complex will also have on ground, other showstoppers including, Prof Aboki, MC Mbakara, HOD, Patrick Shadow, MC George, Dauda and De Don, among others spicing the audience at the event.
“This show is a home-coming of sort for me especially for my numerous fans in Calabar who have been waiting for long to have me showcase my talent and even spice them up at a time many Nigerians are feeling the pain of economic recession. We need to bolster hope and give inspiration to both the participants and all the citizens alike,” Monkal said in the statement.
The statement added that the event which is being packaged by Smile Global Entertainment, but being powered by PGK with the support of Airtel Nigeria, will offer some young but talented artistes and comedians’ opportunities to showcase their potentials.
