Air Force offers free medical services

The Nigerian Air Force, (NAF), in Benue State has offered free medical services to people of Akile community in Makurdi Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking during the flag off ceremony at Kilometre 15 in Akile, Chairman, Organising Committee, AVM Isaika Amao, said the exercise was part of activities lined up to mark NAF’s 53rd anniversar­y.

Amao said that it was the culture of NAF to give back to the society, especially, their host communitie­s

The Chairman of Jalingo Local Government in Taraba State, Alhaji Abdulnasir Bobboji, has been presented with a merit award by the Taraba State Students Union of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

The union leader, Ibrahim Jalo Muhammad, who made the presentati­on, described Bobboji as a way of ensuring that the locals participat­e in the celebratio­n.

He enjoined the natives to come out in their numbers and take advantage of the opportunit­y provided by the two-day medical services assuring that those with serious ailment would be taken to the NAF hospital at the Command base in Makurdi for further free treatment.

Meanwhile, the wife of Chief of Air Staff, Hajiya Hafsat Sadique Abubakar, was on ground yesterday to donate food items to two orphanage homes of Gidan Bege and Mama Abayol in Makurdi. as an exemplary and hardworkin­g leader.

He said since assumption of office, the local government witnessed progress in feeder roads constructi­on, provision of amenities and youth empowermen­t.

Bobboji thanked the students for the honour and pledged not to disappoint the people of the area by delivering more dividends of democracy.
