‘Culture economy, key for art enthusiasts’
The Chief Executive Officer of Adam & Eve, an art and luxury item outfit, Mrs Modupe Ogunlesi has reiterated the need for art enthusiasts and collectors to start cultivating the habit of culture economy.
Ogunlesi who gave the advice at an interaction with journalists in Lagos said culture economy must be well situated within the realm of luxury appreciation and domestic tourism required to lift the country’s economy.
Adam & Eve CEO recalled that it was in recognition of this reality that led to the organisation of ‘The Content’ between June and July 2017 when lovers of luxury design items and art enthusiasts from Victoria Island, Lagos and other axis of Mainland had gathered to engage.
“Aside ‘The Content’, the ‘Festival of Carol’ is what we do every year. But this time we want to have six lessons, in shorter form for the Carol, which starts on November 12, 2017 as it flags off our Christmas activities,” Ogunlesi said.
In organising Festival of Carol, Ogunlesi said Nollywood actress, Joke Silva has been slated to read poetry for performance of the day.
“Seven main exhibiting artists and three guest masters have been scheduled to show their artworks at the event from October 15 to December 15. The Festival of Carols is on November 12 to flag off the Christmas season. Instead of a festival of nine lessons and carol as in years past, we plan an adaptation of the shorter version ‘Carols from Kings’ to give more time to mingle,” Ogunlesi said.
