PDP Convention: Court bars Olafeso exco from submitting delegates list
AFederal High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has barred the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its various organs from receiving a list of delegates to the December 9 national convention from the Eddy Olafeso-led south-west zonal executive.
The court recognised the Chief MakanjuolaOgundipe-led zonal committee of the party and mandated the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led caretaker committee to allow delegates from the zone presented by Ogundipe to the convention.
Olafeso is the recongised zonal chairman of the party from the South-west by the national leadership of the party and its various organs.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja yesterday, Ogundipe who secured the court order Wednesday, said non-compliance with the order would spell doom for the party at the convention.
Ogundipe brought the court order to the national headquarters of the party in Abuja yesterday to administer it on the national leadership.
Named in the suit with number FHC/AD/ CS/18/2017 are Chief Makanjola Ogundipe, Chief Adepegba Otemolu, Lanre Orimoloye, Supo Ijabadeniyi and Femi Carena as plaintiffs. The defendants include the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), PDP, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, Sen. Ben Obi, Eddy Olafeso, Wunmi Jenyo, Adeola Ogunrinde, Femi Adetola and many others.
