Tomorrow, three clubs in the Nigeria Profession­al Football League, NPFL, will begin their campaign in this year’s CAF club competitio­ns. Apart from Enyimba FC who are drawn bye in the Confederat­ion Cup, Plateau United, MFM and Akwa United will be in action.

While Plateau United and Akwa United will be home in the CAF Champions League and Confederat­ion Cup respective­ly, MFM will debut in the Champions League away from home.

Plateau United host Eding Sport of Cameroon, MFM will be in Mali to face Real Bamako just as Akwa United will battle Banjul Hawks of Gambia in Uyo.

Our cover story therefore takes a look at the preparatio­ns of the three clubs and their chances against the opposition­s they are scheduled to face tomorrow.

In our interview corner, we have for your reading delight the interview we had with Daniel Aondoyima Agwaza, a young defender who plays for Yobe Desert Stars in the NPFL.

He spoke to us on the challenges of travelling long distances by road to honour away matches. Agwaza however assured that Yobe Stars won’t have anything to do with relegation in the current season.
