Varsity gets donation of books worth N2.5m

Plateau State University (PLASU) in Bokkos has received donation of different academic books worth N2.5 million from Brooks Consolidat­ed Investment Limited (BCIL) to enhance teaching and learning.

Presenting the books to PLASU Vice Chancellor, Professor YohannaIza­m, BCL Managing Director, Sunday A new batch of 165 Nigerian returnees from Libya have arrived the country with the assistance of Internatio­nal Organizati­on for Migrations (IOM).

The aircraft operated by Al Buraq airline with registrati­on number 5A-DMG, arrived the cargo wing of Murtala Mohammed Internatio­nal Airport (MMIA) at about 9:45 p.m. on Thursday with the returnees.

The NEMA Zonal Coordinato­r, Yakubu Suleiman received the Jesmiel, said that the gesture was part of the company’s effort to uplift the standard of education in the nation as part of its corporate social responsibi­lity. 100 different titles of books were donated.

Professor Izam, who received the books in company of some management staff of the university, thanked BCL for its positive contributi­on to the developmen­t of the institutio­n.

165 Nigerians repatriate­d from Libya

returnees on behalf of the Federal Government from IOM Head of Mission in Nigeria, Ms Enira Krdzalic who came down to Lagos from Abuja.

Ms Krdzalic disclosed that IOM with the assistance from EU have repatriate­d 7,746 back to Nigeria and the organizati­on is on the verge of reaching the 8,000 mark.

The NEMA Zonal Coordinato­r said the figure included 68 female adults, six female children and one female infant as well as 89 male adults and one male infant.
