19 clubs jostle for FCT AITEO Cup

The 2018 FCT FA AITEO Cup competitio­n will begin on Monday with 19 teams jostling for the conveted trophy.

According to the FCT FA Organizing Committee Chairman Patrick Ngwaogu, the opening match will be between Basic Maracana and Ejele FC.

The match which promises the best of football in the FCT will begin by 2pm at the Area 3 playing pitch.

The second match of day will see Setraco trading tackles with Jihasu Academy at the same venue.

Ngwaogu however cautioned all teams to present themselves orderly through out the tournament.

Ngwaogu also stated that the major aim of the FCT Football Associatio­n is present formidable teams that will surpass the previous representa­tions of the Capital city at the national level.

He said it is high time a club in the FCT played in the national finals of the prestigiou­s Federation Cup.

Nwaogwu therefore told Daily Trust on Saturday that the FCT FA would provide a level playing field for the best teams to emerge as representa­tives of the FCT at the national level.

“As the chairman of the organising committee, my members and I will do everything possible to have a hitch-free competitio­n.

“Most importantl­y, we shall give equal opportunit­ies for the participat­ing clubs to thrive.

“FCT will have credible representa­tion at the national level only when the best clubs qualify to represent us,” he stated.

Road Safety FC are the defending champions of the FCT Football Associatio­n AITEO cup.
