The organiser of the Higher Institutions Football League (HiFL), Pace Sports and Entertainment Marketing has said there is no court injunction stopping the final of the maiden edition of the competition between the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, UAM Tillers and University of Calabar, UNICAL Malabites billed for today, November 3, 2018 at the Agege stadium, Lagos.

Recently, reports had emerged that a motion was filed at the Federal High Court Ikoyi in Lagos by the Chief Executive Officer, Green White Green, Shuaibu Gara-Gombe, said to be a dismissed consultant to the organiser but the Director, Pace Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Mr. Sola Fijabi has debunked the report.

Fijabi who cleared the air at a press conference held yesterday in Lagos said that the organiser has not received any order to appear in court.

“We are a loyal brand, we have committed a lot to this competition, the final will go on as scheduled. We heard that there is a court injunction but there is no court injunction to stop the final,” he stressed.

Going to the finals of the maiden edition which kicked off in August, the Chief Coach of UNICAL Malabites, Egrinya Emmanuel assured that his team will give no breathing space to their opponent, adding that UNICAL has a good record of sports in Nigeria.

“I will never go for a game and hope to lose but if it happens, I will take it well as a sportsman. We are well prepared mentally, physically, psychologically,” he said.

Before UNICAL Malabites slug it out against UAM Tillers in the final by 3pm, UNIILORIN Warriors will lock horns with OAU giants at 10 am to determine the third place winner.
