AMMA award goes international
Organizers of the annual Arewa Music and Movies Awards (AMMA) have revealed that the 6th edition of the award will now include artistes from Niger Republic and Burkina Faso. This is in a bid to make the event one of international standard. This is also the reason for the change of the award’s name to AMMA Awards International.
Addressing newsmen during a press conference in Kano, President of AMMA Abdulkadir Abdulrahman stated that the event which is a brainchild of CEMS Ltd., has had five successful outings, in five consecutive years.
He added that the 2019 edition will be expanded as organizers of the award have successfully incorporated other nations apart from Nigeria.
Abdulrahman said, “This year we are expanding our horizon as we have successfully incorporated artistes from Niger republic and Burkina Faso.”
Sponsors for the event will come from the entertainment industry, government, mobile telephone companies and the private sector among others.
Mr. Abdulrahman further stated that some companies and individuals have already declared their intention to sponsor some of the categories awards being line up in the event adding that discussion is still in process for other categories to be sponsored.
He added that, call for entries into the 6th edition is open on the AMMA website or interested participants should pick an entry form at the organiser’s office in Kano.
