Let us patronize locally made goods

-

Recently the Speaker, Osun House of Assembly, Mr Timothy Owoeye, urged Nigerians to focus more on locally made products for the sustainability of the country’s economy this year.

He also called on Nigerians to look inward and patronise indigenous manufacturers and strive for the good of the land.

The Speaker’s injunction coming in his New Year is really apt and timely. Nigerians should now look inward for selfattainment and need to cut down their dependence on foreign goods, especially food stuff to increase local production and enhance entrepreneurship.

On this note, I support the Speaker in this call to make Nigeria great.

Establish Federal College of Education at Abinsi

Isalute the recent Federal Government that pronouncement that it will establish six colleges of education in states with such institution inclusive Benue State. However, I am advocating for the one in Benue to be cited in Abinsi, a Jukun community in Guma Local Government Area.

We are advocating because there is no any state or federal government institutions in the community which was once the headquarters of Benue Province. It is sad that there is no government institution of any sort in the community and the establishment of such institution of apt and should be considered.

Diaspora Nigerians emphasize on technical know-how

It is really heart-warming when the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer the Nigeria in Diaspora Commission, (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa announced that Nigerians in Diaspora remitted about $25 billion since the organization since it was set up May, 2019.

This clearly showed Nigerians are impacting positively in various sections in other climes. The figure could be higher.

However, it will be more gratifying for Diaspora Nigerians to remember to not only to remit money but also bring back their technical know-how to better the lot of the country. With this in mind, I implore the NiDCOM to synergize with those abroad to develop more avenues to plough into various sections their intellect to better the country of their birth.
