IPAC gets 4-man c’ttee as Ameh’s tenure expires

The Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC) has appointed a new four-man Central Management Committee to pilot the affairs of the council for four months.

The outgoing president of the committee, Chief Peter Ameh, said yesterday in Abuja that the inauguration of the committee was due to the urgent need for a democratic transition from the 10th National Executive Council (NEC) whose tenure expires today.

He listed members of the committee as Chief Ralph Okey Nwosu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as Acting President; Alhaji Abdulkadir A. Salam of Labour Party (LP) as Acting Vice President; Hon. Adekunle Rufai OmoAje of Action Alliance (AA) as Acting Secretary General and Elder Chuks Achusi of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as Acting National Treasurer.

According to him, the four-month period as stated commences today and lapses on Tuesday, February 5, 2021 and the dates remain sacrosanct.

He said the CMN would within the time prescribed, ensure the conduct of a free, fair and credible executive council elections at the national and state levels for the 2021 IPAC executive council in accordance with the code.

“Be responsible for the day to day running of the council’s affairs for a period of four months and ensure an immediate, complete and mandatory handover of administration to newly elected 11th NEC leadership at the expiration of the four-month period of engagement,” Ameh said.
