Menace of phone snatching and stabbing in Kano
The raging wave of insecurity in our beloved country, Nigeria is no longer hot news. The situation is continuously becoming a trend where we are all familiar with, day-in-day-out.
Hardly a day passes by without hearing reports in the media of attacks in North Eastern states of Borno, Yobe or Adamawa.
But in Kano, particularly the metropolitan area and beyond, what’s currently happening is a heartbreaking reality, about insecurity - a new form of the criminality of armed, young gangsters having a similar instinct of wild animals snatching phones and stabbing people at their free will.
At the moment, Kano is under the silent attack of phone snatchers. No one is safe; both outdoors and in the homestead, whereby people are at the mercy of these monsters.
Anyone can be a victim at any time of the day or night.
Whenever one is caught in the web of such a dilemma, It is either you succumb to surrender your phone or chose resistance, as a shortcut route to an early grave.
I urge the concerned authorities, especially the police to rise to the occasion in nipping this ugly trend in the bud.
