There is no need to empower firefighters with arms for self protection. Their major responsibility is rescue mission and attending to emergency but not fighting the public.

Instead of giving them arms, government should give the relevant equipment that can enhance their prompt operations.

If they do their job well, members of the public will not be prompted to attack them.

Government should also ensure public enlightenment and sensitization on the importance of their job.
