Ex-Daily Trust veteran photo-journalist dies at 69

Aveteran photojournalist and former Staff of Media Trust Limited Kaduna Regional office, Shehu K, Goro, has died at the age of 69.

He died yesterday at his residence located at Badarawa, Kaduna, after a brief illness.

His son Umar Usman who confirmed his death to Daily Trust, said he died of asthma on Friday morning.

Late Shehu Goro’s funeral was led by Imam of Badarawa Mosque, Malam Jibril Umar Jibril, amidst tears by family members and colleagues.

Late Shehu Goro left behind a wife, Hauwa’u Abubakar and eight children.

He had been buried according to Islamic rites.

The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna Chapter, in a statement signed by the State Chairman, Adamu Yusuf, described his demise as shocking.

Late Shehu Goro worked with Today Newspaper before joining Daily Trust over 20 years ago. His passion for journalism didn’t leave him as he joined Peoples Daily Newspapers where he worked as a freelancer until his sudden death.
