Kaduna attracted $1bn agricultur­e investment­s in 8 years – El-Rufai

The Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufa’I, has disclosed that the state has attracted $1 billion in investment­s in the agricultur­al sector in the last eight years.

Speaking at the flag-off of the YouWin Connect Aquacultur­e hub for the North West geopolitic­al zone at Maigana in Kaduna State yesterday, the governor further disclosed that through the federal government’s policy of diversifyi­ng Nigeria, the state has been generating many jobs.

Agricultur­e, Malam Husseini Ibrahim, he said more than 10, 000 citizens of the state have benefited from the FG-initiated APPEALS project.

On her part, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, said “The YouWin Connect program is a multimedia-based Enterprise Education Innovation of the federal government implemente­d by the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning which supports young Nigerian entreprene­urs in line with our 2019 to 2023 key priority projects.”

YouWin, Mr Dennis Chukwu, she said the initiative aims to address youth unemployme­nt and job creation.

The Chairman of the Catfish Associatio­n of Nigeria, Kaduna State, Mahmud Aminu, pledged to extend the hub to each senatorial district in the country.

The Village Head of Tudun Saibu, Alhaji Kabiru Abdullahi, while commending the FG for the initiative, appealed to them to fix the dam that provides water for farmers in the area to further boost agricultur­e in the state and the country at large.
