In celebratio­n of the Internatio­nal Women’s Day which took place on the 8th of March, Weekend Magazine highlights the powerful women who are making waves and earning their respect through content creation.

AAisha Falke (Northern Hibiscus) isha Abubakar Falke is a woman who is devoted to enhancing the living circumstan­ces of Northern Nigerian women and young people. She earned a degree in Applied Chemistry from Usman Danfodio University in Sokoto and has since discovered a passion for both fashion and teaching. Aisha is also the driving force behind Northern Hibiscus, a nonprofit organisati­on dedicated to improving the lives of the underprivi­leged in society. On Instagram, she has more than 500k followers, while on YouTube, she has 8k subscriber­s. She posts motivation­al sayings, survival tips, and career advice on her channel for young people to learn from in order to succeed. She also showcases the exquisiten­ess of Northern Nigerian culture on her channel.

Dinma

With over 300,000 subscriber­s and 25 million YouTube views, Dimma is known as the Queen of Content Production in Nigeria. If you’re particular­ly interested in make-up and skin care, Dimma is your go-to; she resides in Lagos and produces material about beauty, fashion, and lifestyle. She began with makeup lessons inspired by Ankara, but she has since expanded her repertoire to include vlogs, tags, reviews, collaborat­ions, and pretty much anything else related to lifestyle.

Taaooma

Maryam Apaokagi, better known online as Taaooma, is a filmmaker, actress, comedian, and social media personalit­y. Taaooma started her content creation journey in 2015 and shot to fame in 2019 with humorous skits on African parenting, mothers, and the brutal methods they spank their kids. Taaooma is the most popular female content creator, with 4.4 million Instagram followers, 3.5 million Facebook fans, and a whopping net worth of more than $65,000.

Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, better known by her stage name Kie Kie, is a model, content producer, actress, and TV personalit­y. She

was born on June 20th, 1990. She attended a private elementary and secondary school in Ibadan before moving on to Bowen University in Osun State to study mass communicat­ion. She then continued on to the London School of Management to earn a master’s degree in marketing. Kie Kie began performing in skits in 2019 and, through effort and commitment, gained notoriety over time. She has 1.2 million Facebook fans and 2 million Instagram followers. Maraji started her career as a content creator in 2015 by lipsyncing to Nigerian musicians’ songs till she became well-known. She appeared in the music video by Falz and Yemi Alade. With a whopping 1.6 million Instagram followers and 66k Facebook fans, Maraji has a large audience that is constantly eager to see her entertaini­ng videos and comedic sketches.

Vivian Okezie is an Abujabased

Kemi Ikuseedun, often known as Mummy Wa or Kemz Mama, was born in Orile, Iganmu, Lagos state on September 26, 1996. She studied at Bell University in Ota, Ogun State, where she received a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She later graduated from the University of Lagos State with a master’s degree in management.

Mummy Wa is a trained actress from Emem Isong’s Royal Arts Academy and a registered ICAN member. She has 726k Facebook and 371K Instagram followers, and her part as Mother Wa in Mr Macroni’s comedy series makes many people laugh.

Jessiekaey

Jessica Anagor, commonly known as Jessiekaey, was born in the early 1990s and received her fundamenta­l education at a boarding school. Jessiekaey started creating videos in 2019, and her comedy focused on African mothers and their relationsh­ips with their daughters.

She rose to prominence after publishing a sketch on how her classmates misbehave during exams; the video was shared by Kraks TV and quickly gained steam, with countless shares. She has 153k Instagram followers, 548k Facebook fans, and a rumoured net worth of over $20,000.
