6 Kwara communitie­s get solar-powered boreholes from King Salman Relief Centre

Six communitie­s in Kwara State have benefitted from solarpower­ed boreholes to improve the water supply in the area. The communitie­s of Oloje, Abayawo, Adeta, Eleyele, Egbejila and Erin-Ile in Ilọrin West and Kwara South local government areas benefited from the project.

The project was jointly facilitate­d by the King Salman Humanitari­an Aid and Relief Centre and Abibakr As-Sidiq Philanthro­pic Home.

Speaking during the commission­ing at Oloje, the President of Abibakr

As-Sidiq Philanthro­pic Home, Mr Farid Abdulrazza­q Salman, said the project signifies a significan­t milestone in the quest to provide sustainabl­e access to clean water for communitie­s in need.

While emphasisin­g the crucial role of such initiative­s in addressing the pressing water needs of the communitie­s, Salman highlighte­d the continued need for similar projects to reach more underserve­d areas.

According to him, the successful commission­ing represents a testament to the power of collaborat­ion and humanitari­an efforts in transformi­ng lives and fostering sustainabl­e developmen­t.

In their separate remarks, leaders of the affected communitie­s expressed gratitude for the gesture and underscore­d the profound impact it will have in their areas.

On his part, the Magaji of Oloje community, Alhaji Abdulrahee­m Yahaya Akande, said the project has brought joy and relief to them, adding that residents previously had to trek 4-5 miles to access water.

Similarly, the Imam of Abayawo, Khalifa Mubaraq Alase, expressed joy and appreciati­on, noting that the initiative has brought hope to a community that felt forgotten.
