Confab: JIBWIS urges delegates on insecurity issues

The national leadership of Jama’atu Izalatil Bidi’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) yesterday called on delegates at the ongoing national conference to focus more on issues of insecurity with a view to finding a lasting solution to the problem.

The statement issued in Kano and signed by JIBWIS National Publicity Director Malam Ali Dan Abba, quoted the leader of the Islamic sect Sheikh Imam Abdullahi Bala Lau as saying that “it is dishearten­ing the manner in which innocent lives are being lost due to the level of insecurity without much concern shown on the part of government”.

According to the statement, the leader urged delegates at the ongoing national conference to extensivel­y deliberate on insecurity issues in order to proper a lasting solution to the problem that seemed to defile solutions.

The statement further advised that delegates to be more patriotic and committed towards ensuring that a positive result was achieved at the end of the conference as Nigeria and Nigerians were in dare need of positive developmen­t.

“The religion of Islam preaches peace. It is a religion that ensures equity and equality. Therefore, we should not relent in praying and also in seeking Allah’s forgivenes­s. As Muslims, we are confident that things will return to its normal status. However, as delegates I urge you to show patriotism and concern over the plight of Nigeria as a nation,” the leader stated in the statement.
