2015: Anxiety in APC over presidential ticket

What is this nonsense about Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Muslim and all that jargon? Even if Buhari makes Pope Francis his running mate, the South-South and SouthEast will not vote for him! Have you forgotten about Pastor Tunde Bakare? How many Christians voted CPC because of that?

He had Dr Chuba Okadigbo as his running mate, and Chuba, with all his political pedigree could not even deliver his state. Why waste time on this nonsense? Let our elder statesmen, Buhari and Tinubu, lead the way and damn all this nonsense.

Didn’t Jonathan damn all sorts of arrangements when it was time to have power returned to the North? He even damned agreements he freely entered into, saying it was unconstitutional and the constitution surpasses everything. Isn’t it? So, what is wrong in having Buhari-Tinubu running? My thinking is that these two giants should run for one year, lead us out of PDP darkness, then we can have our Eaglet take over i.e. Fashola.

I am neither supporting nor suggesting a Muslim -Muslim ticket for APC. However, even that may not hinder APC come 2015. Despite the fact that both SDP and NRC fielded Muslim -Muslim as their presidential candidates in 1993, the Christians did not complain and not only that, they threw their weights behind Abiola as a result of their extreme tolerance, understanding, and maturity. Leadership (by Muslim or Christian) can only be firmly sustained by justice and fair play.

Robert Mugabe is right; corruption has eaten very deep into the fabric of Nigeria through our leaders. We therefore need a change of leadership.

Religion as a basis for emergence of candidates is purely used in parties that have nothing to present to the masses like PDP. We should not deceive ourselves with wrong calculations because the arithmetic is clear for everyone to see. SouthEast and South-South will surely vote for Jonathan even if APC present Christian/Christian ticket.

On the other hand, majority of the Northern electorate will massively vote for Buhari irrespective of the ticket. I am optimistic that with Tinubu as running mate to Buhari, the Yoruba will throw their weight to APC.

On Christian/Muslim ticket, did Namadi Sambo stop the killings and marginalization in the North? Or is it then VP Jonathan that initiated the amnesty to Niger-Delta terrorists? All we need in Nigeria is true leader not religious bigot.
